Cost Reduction Opportunities through Lean Supply Chain Thinking
A unique opportunity to look at your business in a new light.
Find out where you can make savings in Your Supply Chain,
and
how your Supply Chain measures up to Lean Principles.

Introduction:

Much has been done to achieve high standards of Lean within a manufacturing environment, but not so much, however, has been developed to achieve similar standards in the end to end Supply Chain. Lean Thinking has proved to be an effective tool in improving efficiency and reducing costs, it also provides a standard of operation across companies within a group enabling standard performance measures and truly comparable performance.

At these unique training opportunities in the beautiful setting of the Hook Norton Brewery in North Oxfordshire (www.hooknortonbrewery.co.uk), you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and to contribute to new ways of developing your Supply Chain and to find out how to look for those hidden COST SAVING opportunities.

The Lean Principles will be taken forward to show you how they can support low Carbon strategies, and further to achieve sustainability in your Supply Chain. It is our policy to present commercial "green" strategies. Furthermore we will also consider how Lean can help to address the pressures imposed on Supply chain operations in the current economic climate.

Below are a couple of comments from delegates who attended our last workshop:

"I don't think I was the only one who wished we were coming back the next day" Director - Ingram Micro
"Useful and very thought provoking" EDF Energy

Why attend:
These training workshops have been created to help clients identify and deliver business improvement in their Supply Chain Operations. They provide a practical approach and are highly inclusive, based on real examples where success has been achieved. It is aimed at all levels including:

  • Those with basic understanding of the principles of lean thinking who now wish to apply these in their own supply chain organisation

  • Those who wish specifically to ensure that their ongoing improvement programme is set in the proper context of carbon footprint reduction and sustainability

What you will learn on the Training Workshop:

  • Recap on the principles of lean thinking and what this means to an integrated Supply Chain
  • An outline framework of Structured Thinking and Analysis
  • Defining and measuring value - how to stay focussed on customer requirements
  • Flow and demand pull - overcoming the barriers to a pull based Supply Chain
  • Is Lean Thinking compatible with carbon management and sustainability?
  • A practical group exercise to re-engineer a supply chain towards a lean goal
  • How these principles apply to your Supply Chain.

Each training workshop will consist of a mixture of lectures, real case examples and practical group exercises.

Places are limited due to the nature of the training as we have chosen to run the forums in small groups to give participants maximum value, and our personal attention throughout.

Hook Norton Brewery is a living and working museum, rooted in an age when most towns and large villages could boast their own brewery. Sadly, this is no longer the case, but Hook Norton is one of the only few surviving independent family run breweries. The building itself is probably the finest example of a Victorian tower brewery and is still powered by a 25-horse power Steam Engine.

All delegates will have the opportunity for a tour of the Hook Norton Brewery. This optional tour will take place after the workshop at 3.30 pm and takes approximately 1 hour.

How much does it cost?

The workshop training day costs £125.00 plus VAT which includes lunch.
